A showcase to echo a unique brand voice

Long-awaited zombie sequel Dead Island 2 was looking to showcase the game in a uniquely ambitious way: using live action as a narrative wrapper to house several sneak previews of gameplay.

The trick came in nailing a fourth-wall-breaking meta tone, steering into the game’s L.A. setting and toying with zombie tropes – while balancing the marketing component of demonstration, including new Amazon Alexa Game Control technology.

The resulting 15 minute film, ’ANOTHER DAY IN HELL.A.’, was shot in South Africa, in collaboration with ICHI’s sister agency, Maverick, our production partner within the Keywords group. Gameplay capture by another sister agency, Fire Without Smoke.
